Description
A handsome pair of freestanding wall units by British maker Herbert E. Gibbs, this mid-century set offers a beautifully balanced blend of storage and display. Crafted in rich teak with a warm, mellow tone, the two units house a thoughtfully arranged combination of:
– A drinks cabinet for stylish entertaining
– A chest of drawers for practical storage
– Two cupboards — one at the base, one at the top — for tucking away essentials
– Open-backed shelving for books, ceramics, or curated treasures
Together, they measure 183.5cm high x 167.5cm wide x 40.5cm deep, with individual widths of 91.5cm and 76cm — making them ideal for side-by-side placement or flexible use across a room. Their slim proportions and modular layout make them perfectly suited to contemporary living, offering generous storage without dominating your space.
Each unit bears the Herbert E. Gibbs maker’s mark, a testament to quality British craftsmanship and enduring mid-century style.
In good condition with just the possibility of the odd scratch or bruise commensurate with age and use. There is some slight sun-fade to the right hand side support of the unit with the drinks cabinet. This is not too dramatic and could be easily hidden if the other unit is butted up to this side. Please check out the images for a good representation of the condition and message me for any further details if required.
